happn is a dating app by happn that connects you with people you have crossed paths with in your everyday life. Instead of relying on endless swiping through strangers from far away, the service uses your real-world movements to surface profiles of other users who have been in the same places around the same time, such as your workplace, a favorite café, or a park on your usual route. The core idea is to turn missed encounters into opportunities for a first conversation, with profiles appearing only after an actual geographic crossing has occurred.
The app is designed for people who want to date within their own routine and who prefer meeting someone with a natural, shared context rather than through a purely algorithm-driven feed. You can browse these nearby profiles, express interest privately with a Like, and if the feeling is mutual, you get a Crush and can start chatting. For those who want to stand out, a SuperCrush can be sent to catch someone's attention, and the app also includes icebreaker suggestions and conversation topics based on common locations.
Privacy is a stated priority. Your precise location is never shown to other members; only the fact that you crossed paths is indicated, and you control who can see you and what information you share. You will not receive messages from people you have not shown interest in. The app also offers optional features like Teasers and Hobbies to reveal more personality, and a CrushTime game where you can guess who already liked you. The app is free to use, with an optional Premium subscription for added benefits such as seeing who liked you and sending more SuperCrushes.

happn is for singles who want to date people they naturally encounter in their daily life—commuters, regulars at the same café, or coworkers—and who value privacy controls and a more organic way of meeting rather than swiping through distant strangers.
To get the most out of happn, make sure your location services are on and that you grant the app permission to access your location, as it is essential for detecting crossings. Also, review your privacy settings to decide who can see you, and fill out your Hobbies and Teasers to give potential matches more to talk about.
